Major Tool & Machine Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification

Certification reinforces Major Tool & Machine’s commitment to cybersecurity and protecting sensitive information across the Defense Industrial Base

Major Tool & Machine (MTM), a Precinmac company, and leading provider of large-format precision machining, complex fabrication, and integrated assembly, announced that it has successfully achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 certification.

The certification follows a comprehensive assessment conducted by A-LIGN, an authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) and cybersecurity compliance partner. MTM successfully completed its CMMC Level 2 assessment on August 25, 2026.

“Achieving CMMC Level 2 certification is an important milestone for Major Tool & Machine and reflects the commitment our team has made to cybersecurity and the protection of sensitive customer information,” said Mike Griffith, President of Major Tool & Machine. “As a trusted manufacturing partner to the defense industry, protecting the information entrusted to us is an essential part of supporting our customers and the critical programs we serve.”

CMMC was established by the U.S. Department of Defense to strengthen cybersecurity throughout the Defense Industrial Base and protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). CMMC Level 2 is aligned with the 110 security requirements of NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2 and is focused on the broad protection of CUI.

Achieving Level 2 certification demonstrates that MTM has implemented and successfully undergone an independent assessment of the cybersecurity practices required to safeguard CUI within the scope of its certified environment.

“Congratulations to Major Tool and Machine, Inc. for achieving CMMC Level 2 certification. This accomplishment demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding valuable information to protect our nation, developing a competitive advantage, and creating a culture of security,” said Petar Besalev, EVP of Compliance and Cybersecurity Services at A-LIGN. “We're proud to support this integral step in Major Tool and Machine, Inc.'s compliance journey with a high-quality assessment process and deep expertise in federal compliance.”

The certification further strengthens MTM’s ability to support customers across the U.S. defense industrial base, complementing the company’s established manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and commitment to supporting complex, mission-critical programs.
