Monday thru Thursday

3:25pm – 2:00am.

In this position you will use your experience and training to operate CNC equipment. You will read blueprints, adjust equipment, use measuring tools and perform minor routine maintenance procedures.

The successful candidate will be one who has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with CNC equipment and is committed to safety, quality and customer service. He/she will demonstrate mature judgment and the ability to work in a team environment. The people filling these positions must be able to recognize and adjust to changes in priorities with little direction. With minimal supervision an employee must be able to do the following essential job functions:

  • Perform the start-up of machines in accordance with
  • Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor machine while running and ensure the product
  • meets quality requirements.
  • Operate the machine in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete daily operating reports.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machine area and machine, works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to solve problems and assist in the design (or redesign) of equipment.

Requirements:
Prior CNC operator experience on mills and lathes
Experience using micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring and inspection instruments
Reliable transportation a must Must be able to work overtime as required.

Attention to detail a must

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Routinely operates/uses equipment, machines, and tools requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity
  • Routinely communicates face-to-face
  • Routinely performs duties in production floor environment
  • Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling and stopping
  • Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift

Milling CNC Programmer at MMPCo 

  1. An ideal Mill Programming candidate would be a Class “A” Machinist able to demonstrate proficiency setting up and operating 3, 4, or 5 Axis Milling machines.
  2. An ideal candidate would have experience in the “G Code” programming of 3, 4, or 5 Axis CNC milling machines in Camworks and or Mastercam CAM Software on Fanuc and Mazak Controls.
  3. An ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate proficiency in selecting and ordering the cutting tools needed for a tooling package to be issued to the floor with the program package they create.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Inspector function is responsible for ensuring internal and externally produced parts are sampled against pertinent specifications and records are monitored and kept per MMP and customer procedures. Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production and finished products.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspection Duties:
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducts visual and measurement tests, rejects and accepts product in ERP system and returns discrepant materials to its source.
  • Approves in-process production product by confirming specifications, conducts visual and measurement tests communicating required adjustments to production supervision.
  • Approves finished product by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning product for rework and confirming reworked product.
  • Documents inspection results by completing forms, logs and systems.
  • Keeps measurement devices operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs as needed.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Accomplished quality and organization mission by completing related results as directed and as needed.

  1. Customer Service
  • Helps ensure the satisfactory application of customer service standards and customer satisfaction programs.
  • Communicates the importance of customer service to all associates and suppliers.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for managing all aspects of quality inspection requirements.

 

 

STANDARD MANAGEMENT WORK WEEK:

  • MMP operates on a standardized management work week based on established operating schedules. The standardized schedule affords management and associates the opportunity to balance their personal and professional life styles. The standard work week for  quality inspector/technician  is 5 day work week M-F with hours based on internal and external  requirements. Travel is possible but very limited. A typical work week is between 40-50 hours.  Periodic and/or unexpected business necessity may require individual  to work above and beyond the standard schedule.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong people interpersonal communicating skills.
  • Strong background in SPC, tool maintenance and measurement practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other technical data.
  • Computer literate with experience in Windows based programs
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Sound business sense; ability to analyze, prioritize, identify and execute solutions
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • A comprehensive understanding of the machining industry:

Supply Chain: Material Handler

  • Maintain our work area daily in an organized, neat, safe and clean condition. Our department is one of the most visible areas to staff and leadership. Customers frequently visit our shop and the condition of our area is critical to the success of our business.
  • Manage time and priorities as specifically instructed by your supervisor. If time becomes available between directed projects, use initiative to further departmental goals such as:
    • Safe and clean work environment
    • 99% Inventory accuracy
    • Quick turn for packaging, shipping and sub contract management
    • A place for everything and everything in its place.
  • Pick material in accordance with pick lists paying attention to special instructions on routers and pick lists.
  • Material handling – Unpack and pack material in a safe and careful manner to prevent injury and material damage. We are the last stop for everything MMP supplies our customers and the parts have the most value when we handle them.
  • Move material throughout our facility in a timely fashion as requested. Bring material to machines as needed
  • Pack and process orders for shipping including the construction of custom packaging as required
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Assist in investigating material and shipping/receiving discrepancies. Perform material counts upon request
  • Picking up and delivering parts to local customers as well as our subcontractors
  • Stay current on all proper Receiving/shipping procedures and requirements
  • Inspect material handling equipment for defects and maintain proper preventive maintenance. Notify supervisor if repair is needed
  • Monitor safe operation of equipment
  • Assist and own special projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Physically able to lift 50 to 80 lbs
